Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! I am accepting new clients in Maryland. I currently have morning and daytime availability on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I offer in-person and virtual sessions (virtual sessions are for Maryland residents only). My office is located in Hagerstown, Maryland.
I don’t live in Maryland, can I still work with you?
If you are able to meet for in-person sessions, yes. If you are unable to meet in-person, unfortunately we cannot work together.
Therapists are only able to provide services in the state that they are licensed in and I am only licensed in Maryland.
Do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with CareFirst and BlueCross BlueShield. These are the only insurance plans I accept at this time.
What are your rates for therapy?
I always offer a free 15-minute consultation call before scheduling the first session to answer any questions you may have and to see if we are a good fit.
60 minute session fee: $175
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full rate, please reach out so we can chat about it.
Open Path Psychotherapy Collective is a great resource for finding affordable mental health care.
Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
No. Women from all backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, and stages of faith are welcome here. You don’t need to be actively practicing or even certain in your faith. This is a safe, judgment-free space where your beliefs are always respected.
Can I use out-of-network benefits for therapy?
In some cases you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. Please know that you will be responsible for paying the session fee at the end of each session, if you choose to use out-of-network benefits.
I work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. This service will be provided at no cost to you.
Not sure if you have out-of-network benefits? Check out Mentaya’s free tool (found under this FAQ section) to find out and get an estimate of what your costs will be using your out-of-network benefits.
Feel free to visit Mentaya to learn more about their services.
Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's a completely optional service, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
How often will we meet and how long will I be in therapy?
I meet with most of my clients weekly or every-other-week. I recommend meeting weekly for the first 4 weeks, if possible. This will allow us to build a good foundation - a truly successful therapeutic journey begins with a safe, trusting connection.
The duration of therapy is always customized to your unique needs and goals. Some clients prefer a short-term approach focused on specific goals, while others choose a long-term therapeutic relationship to support ongoing growth and self-discovery.
Throughout our work, we will check in to assess your progress and ensure the process is serving you. Based on your needs, we may adjust the frequency of sessions—whether that means increasing or decreasing them.
A Note on EMDR Therapy: If we are using EMDR, it's important to understand that the process is highly individualized, and there is no fixed timeline. We allow the work to unfold at your pace to ensure the most effective and lasting results.
